[ZendTo] UI Language switch

Hi folks !

Maybe a stupid idea, but Jules can confirm ;)

What about having multiple front servers, one per language??? Here we use Debian 9 in Hyper-V VM, and ZendTo run with only 1 Go of RAM, we use 2Go to be sure ;)

You have to configure them to join the same database (I think MySQL on a different server can be the solution here), and maybe you can also share the same space from dropoff if you have a share on a disk storage, or maybe a NFS share on one of the servers.

The only think I can see to be a problem is 2 dropoffs created at the same time with the same unique ID and/or dropoff directory… but should be very almost impossible I think.

What do you think of that Jules. I think it could work.

Cheers,
Stéphane

Hi Jules.

What about defining a preference key that would allow us to add a combobox of Google Translator within ZendTo's pages?
I've hardcoded one in my installation because we have many international users that were having a hard time with Portuguese.

It looks like this:

The automatic translation isn't perfect but it is better than nothing.

Kind regards.

Stanislav,

I did think of doing that, yes. I looked at it over Christmas, and rapidly came to the conclusion that it was "hard" and I couldn't obviously see how to do it. So it got knocked off my "feature list" for version 5.

It would need a session cookie, but I'm not yet sure how much I would have to do on every page to implement it all.

But yes, it is certainly a thing I would like to do.

If anyone out there fancies having a look at the problem, and do a bit of research into how I might implement it, that would be fantastic and save me a lot of time!

Cheers,
Jules.

Hi Jules,

I found that ZendTo 5.0 supports internationalization. But whole site ZendTo is set to only one language by the key in preferences.php. Is that correct?

Would it be possible to switch the UI language individualy by users browser language preferences?
And ideally to have the option to switch the UI language manually on site as well as possibility to set language of the email template before dispatch.

Is that something you plan to implement?

Thanks for your time.

Stanislav Telipský
