Or that’s what happens when you have too many cooks in the kitchen. Glad you figured it all out.

Kevin & Marlon,
I found the problem and it was not zendto.
Zendto is pointing to an external LDAP server. The LDAP system gets the user account information from an IDM ( Identity Management System). The IDM system will only sync users to the LDAP server if the user object contains the first name, last name, full name and email address.
The tech that created the user object only configured the users object with the last name and email address... so the user account would not sync to the LDAP system.
That's what happens when there are five engineers and squad of tech support folks creating user accounts.
thanks all
Have a good day.

Kevin,
thank you.
Nope... Not the cap lock.
I've created test accounts using hyphens and underscores and neither is working.
Since underscores are allowed, I'll have to take a close look at the LDAP server and see if something is amiss there.
thanks for the quick response,
Cheers.

I use the AD authentication and all my users have underscores w/o any trouble. I wouldn’t expect it to be much different than the LDAP. Caps lock on maybe?

Subject: [ZendTo] usernames with underscores
Running Zendto Version 4.11-11 on CentOS
I have a new user account that has an underscore as part of the name that cannot login.
I've verified the username and password , but zendto say that it is an Authentication error and to check the username and password.
I'm using authenticator => LDAP
The BaseDN is at the top of the LDAP tree and users in lower contexts are able to login.
The username and password are correct.
Other users can login to the system.
I'm wondering if it is the underscore in the name?
While I'm looking into the issue, can anyone tell me if they have usernames with underscores that work?
thanks
Brad
