Had a problem with my server not being able to move files > 2GB which I found odd since I was pretty damn sure I'd followed your instructions for patching at : http://www.zend.to/phpfixrhel6.php (and there's evidence that I had sitting in /root/rpmbuild/... ).

This puzzled me somewhat for a while until I listed the installed rpms on the system to discover that the yum package manager had updated them with later (vanilla) php-* packages.  D'oh.......!!! 

Of course adding the line 

exclude=php* 

to

/etc/yum.conf 

will prevent this from happening next RHEL6 wants to try and auto-update its PHP.  Might it be worth mentioning this on the aforementioned webpage?
