Sunk costs are sunk costs. A cert has been bought. Deploying a zero-cost 
cert instead does not increase the total cost.

I'd go for letsencrypt even if I couldn't get the paid-for cert revoked 
and refunded. But in most cases, one may ask for a revocation of a 
recently issued cert and claim your money back.
