[ZendTo] Post upgrade blues: zendto not sending notifications

After I updated the zendto servers via rpm (Centos) the notices don't seem to want to go out.
I'm using sendmail.  When the message attempts to go, my smtp gateway reports this:
Jun 17 15:29:23 smtp sendmail[20469]: t5HNTNZ1020469: mis-km2-lnx.ci.juneau.ak.us [199.58.55.128] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

Sending mail from the CLI also fails, however manually sending a mail via telnet on port 25 works just jiffy, so I know it's not a firewall issue.  But I'm otherwise stumped.

I didn't make any sendmail changes when I upgraded.  Anyone have any guesses as to what's going on with it?
