FYI for users running clamd-0.97.5-2 and Zendto.

This is a Clamd Error in clamd-0.97-5, not a Zendto error.

System: Zendto-4.10-5 on CentOS 6.3 with clamd-0.97.5-2.el6.rf.x86_64 installed.

The WEBUI reports an "Upload Error" when attempting to upload a .exe file

The log file showed:

Aug 15 09:02:54 zendto clamd[9397]: /var/zendto/incoming/phpzUcxAn: CL_EFORMAT: Bad format or broken data ERROR

# rpm -qa clamd
clamd-0.97.5-2.el6.rf.x86_64

The root cause has been traced to an errorcode-handling change in the
patch for bug #4669 and is not LZX-compression specific. Other file
formats which have reported to trigger CL_EFORMAT errors include Excel &
Word documents as well as PDF files.

Since I know many of you on this CC list have been asking, the complete
0.97.6 update including this patch is coming very soon.

Solution: consider back porting Clamd to version 0.97-4 and retest uploads when 0.97-6 is released.

Julian, thanks for Zendto!
