<div>yes, an "Allow External Logins" switch in preferences.php would be great, with external/internal networks defined by "localIPSubnets" .</div>
<div> </div>
<div>as for removing a login button, i agree with this as it is confusing/redundant with two login buttons/locations on the front page. it clutters what is otherwise a simple interface.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>aside: does this project have a github? it would be nice to be able to collaborate to save you time for example with the external login change.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>thank you</div>

Agreed.<br/>
<br/>
As more functionality has gradually crept out of the core code and into the templates (more new JS, less new PHP), I am having to change the templates more between versions. That makes upgrading a lot harder if you have significantly modified the templates.<br/>
<br/>
So some sort of "Allow External Logins" switch in preferences.php is what you have in mind, yes?<br/>
<br/>
The other thing someone else has suggested today is removing the blue "Login" button from the main menu altogether if the "mini login box" is being shown at the top. It doesn't add any functionality in that situation, so is just clutter.<br/>
<br/>
Cheers,<br/>
Jules.<br/>

<div>to pre-empt your reply, i see a post from 2012 about the same issue. by editing the templates "login.tpl", "header.tpl" and "main_menu.tpl" with {if $isLocalIP} it is possible to do this myself.</div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;">
<div>hello,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>thank you again for your work on this wonderful application. i am further testing and have a feature request (or to ask if this is already possible in preferences).</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I believe that the <tt>localIPSubnets feature that removes some prompts on the homepage is too subtle to be of any use. i cannot see how the difference between those coming from the localIPSubnets and those outside is useful. </tt></div>
<div> </div>
<div><tt>instead, i suggest that this be used to remove totally the login box. I have a need that the only interaction from outside is with a request code or dropoff code (ie: that dropoffs are always initiated from inside localIPSubnets, and from outside its not possible to login, only respond to request or access to dropoff)</tt></div>
<div> </div>
<div>maybe this is already possible?</div>
<div> </div>
<div><tt>thank you</tt></div>
