If the answer is yes check you are on clamav 0.102 or earlier or at least 103.2 because there is a known issue with clamav scanning big files. See the http://jul.es/pipermail/zendto/2021-April/004465.html thread for discussion of this issue. I was trying to solve the problem of the user creating the request being East of the server's timezone, and accidentally created a problem if the user is West of the server's timezone. The simple fix to this, if you want to patch your server manually, is to edit ?????? /opt/zendto/templates/request.tpl and change line 310 from ?????? minDate: 0, // Disallow dates in the past to ?????? minDate: -1, // Start at yesterday to avoid timezone problems That should be the only change required. This fix will be in the next release. Cheers, Jules. Each of the download operations is separate, there's no simple way of linking them (how long might you wait after 1 download to see if there is going to be a second one?). So if the drop-off contains 20 files, the sender will get 20 separate emails every time someone downloads the drop-off. There is currently no setting to change this behaviour, as no one wants to get a "snow drift" of emails from ZendTo. Cheers, Jules. This will turn into a production release very soon (as soon as I get confirmation it works), so PLEASE TRY IT FOR ME. The main reason for that is an important security fix, to do with the temporary names given to uploaded files. What I have also added is another feature to the "upgrade" script, that will check all your *.tpl files in /opt/zendto/templates and make sure they match what I'm expecting to find. This is particularly a problem on Ubuntu/Debian servers, where the upgrade of a package can produce unexpected results as very few people (including me) know all the correct answers to the "do you want to keep the old file or the new file?" questions. It won't replace anything without asking you first. So feel to say no and do the sort-out by hand if you prefer to do that and know what you're doing. You can run the new tool by hand at /opt/zendto/sbin/check_templates. But for sites that have ended up with broken template files, this should solve quite a few problems very quickly and simply. You can download it now from the beta page at ????? https://zend.to/beta Thanks for testing it for me! I am in the midst of building a new/replacement Zend server for my organization. My server: - Ubuntu Server 20.04.2 LTS - Zend 6.05-4 (according to the web interface) I attempted to find my ClamAV version and found the following: *user at Zend2:/$ clamdscan -VERROR: Could not connect to clamd on LocalSocket /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl: No such file or directoryClamAV 0.103.2* When I attempt to drop off a file of any size I get the following: *Upload Error* *The attempt to virus-scan your drop-off failed. Please notify the system administrator* I have attempted the following to resolve this issue: 1.) As per https://zend.to/clamavpermissions - re-install ClamAV with the hope of re-applying the proper permissions - Increased Virtual Memory to 10GB 2.) I read through previous Zend support emails and found http://jul.es/pipermail/zendto/2021-April/004465.html - I am uncertain how to uninstall or replace the ClamAV 0.103.2 and "forcibly install" ClamAV 0.1.02. - I have tried to find articles on how to do this, but it is eluding me. Something like ?????? ps axww | grep clamd should show you if it's running or not. Did you install ClamAV using the ZendTo Installer? That should have setup ClamAV correctly for you. Assuming you did it that way, I'll need to do a little more digging/testing on this. Something might have changed in the Ubuntu clamav packages. > / > / > When I attempt to drop off a file of any size I get the following: > /Upload Error/ > /The attempt to virus-scan your drop-off failed.?? Please notify the > system administrator/ You can see the output of the virus scan command in your ZendTo log in /var/log/zendto/zendto.log. That will probably say the same error as your clamdscan command above, for the same reason. > > I have attempted the following to resolve this issue: > > 1.) Hi Massimo, Yes, you're absolutely right. I was trying to solve the problem of the user creating the request being East of the server's timezone, and accidentally created a problem if the user is West of the server's timezone. The simple fix to this, if you want to patch your server manually, is to edit /opt/zendto/templates/request.tpl and change line 310 from minDate: 0, // Disallow dates in the past to minDate: -1, // Start at yesterday to avoid timezone problems That should be the only change required. This fix will be in the next release. Cheers, Jules.
