I had put this project on the back burners but I am back at it.

I am still unable to figure out why the browser popup remains when uploading. The file(s) get uploaded and notice is sent to recipients.  Its just this screen that remains. I?ve looked at some of the recommended steps from previous replies but haven?t been able to deduce anything.

As for looking at the Java Console, I?m really not sure what to look for. Haven?t done much java script troubleshooting like that before so I?m really not sure what I am supposed to be looking for.

If you get that happening, please take a look in the JavaScript Console in your web browser.
There might well be clues in the output there. And also in your /var/log/zendto/zendto.log file.

I had similar issues. The problem in my case was, that the local Anti-Virus transparently went between the client and my ZendTo server. It immediately picked up the file(s) completely and tried to scan them all locally and then did the request to ZendTo which totally messed up everything. In my case we created and exclusion for the internal IP and the internal fqdn of the ZendTo system from the Antivirus-Webprotection which was Sophos in our case. Then it worked as expected.

Maybe you have a similar problem and maybe you find this info useful. If not just ignore my mail.

Marlon,

For the JavaScript console, open it, try to ensure from any buttons 
across the top of it that you're seeing *All* output, not just errors.
Then clear it: there should be a trash can or "no entry sign" in its 
little toolbar to do that.

Then do the ZendTo upload and see if anything appears in that console at 
all, except for "404" errors about a file whose name ends in ".map" (you 
can ignore those).
Screenshot and send us anything that appears in that console.

What version of ZendTo are you now running on this server/VM ?

Changing the preferences.php code from 'SMTPdebug'    => true  to  'SMTPdebug'    => false resolved my issue.

Once simple change made a world of a difference. Many thanks for your input on this resolve.

It is somewhat misleading as the drop-off is actually completed but with the message remaining on the screen, it can confuse a sender. They may think the process was not complete and then re-attempt another drop-off, not realizing that the recipient already received the notice of the drop-off.

I?ll continue to test this theory out but I know for sure I have received this more than once on different web browsers.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi folks!

I'm very close to a production release of the next version of ZendTo.

I have added some new features, and would be really grateful if you 
could update your translations to fill in the new gaps.

The main new features requiring translation are:
* There is a new "Request Summary" page which shows the contents of an 
active "request for a drop-off" which you can now see via your Inbox page.
* Adjustment to "new drop-off" form as there is now a date/time picker 
for the expiry time, as well as setting just the number of days.
* "Single use" links for downloads, so that a drop-off becomes 
unavailable immediately after it's been downloaded once. (Usage note: to 
reset the drop-off for an additional 1 download, "Resend drop-off" from 
your Outbox page.

Subject: [ZendTo] ANNOUNCE: New Production Release 6.09

Hi folks !

I have just released a new "Production" release, version 6.09.

The main new feature this time is "single-use links"; when you create a 
new drop-off there is a tick-box "Only allow 1 download" (see note 
below). If the recipient has problems downloading the drop-off and needs 
another try, just click the "Resend Request" button via your Outbox page.

Requests are now also listed in your Inbox, and you can delete and 
resend them from there too. They are highlighted to make them distinct 
from drop-offs. If you are wondering why they are in your Inbox and not 
your Outbox page, think of them as "drop-offs that haven't materialised 
yet".

You can now also exactly specify the expiry time of a drop-off, to save 
you having to calculate fractional parts of days by hand.

As usual, you can download it from

or just apt/yum upgrade.
Remember to run "sudo /opt/zendto/bin/upgrade" after your package 
manager has updated ZendTo. Otherwise you'll be missing preferences.php 
settings that you will need.

Anything odd/wrong/unpleasant about the new version, please do let me 
know straightaway.

The main new features are:
- One-time download links. In the "New Drop-off" form, your users can 
now tick a box 'Only allow 1 download'. This changes the new drop-off so 
that the recipient can only download each file once. It only works when 
there is 1 recipient. If the recipient needs another chance to download 
a file, the sender can easily trigger this using the "Resend Dropoff" 
button via their ZendTo Outbox page. This new checkbox is controlled by 
2 new preferences.php settings *'showOneTimeLinksCheckbox'* and 
*'defaultOneTimeLinks'*.
- Expiry time of a new drop-off can be set precisely, using a date+time 
picker.
- Your Inbox now also lists all unexpired "requests for drop-offs", 
highlighted in pale yellow. From each one, you can delete it or re-send it.
- AD authentication: your Inbox now lists all drop-offs addressed to any 
of you email addresses, not just your primary one. Note this is 
available only with on-premises AD, Azure AD doesn't support any 
multi-valued attributes. Really. It doesn't support them at all. No 
"proxyAddresses", no multi-valued attrs of any sort.

* Note on single-use links: Yes, I know it is theoretically impossible 
to be 100% sure that a download by a recipient user has succeeded. But 
in practice it usually is possible. ZendTo doesn't mark the file as 
"sent" until the very end of the file has been transmitted to the 
recipient, and ZendTo has done its usual logging and sent the "Your 
drop-off has been picked up" email to the sender. And if the user fails 
to complete the download, but ZendTo thinks they have, then the sender 
simply has to click the "Resend Dropoff" button via their Outbox page. 
That instruction is clearly shown to the sender when they use this feature.
