Any word on how Jules is doing? I saw on the website he's been in the hospital. Is he doing okay?

Corey,

Hi! And thank you for the concern, it?s really appreciated that people out there really do care. 

After 7 weeks in hospital (and why does autocorrect know that phrase?) I?m now back at home recovering. Things are still far from 100%, and right now it feels like 2 steps forwards and 1 quite big step back. But overall I?m going in the right direction, it?s just going to take time. 

It turns out the most likely cause of everything was that I picked up a random passing infection, which others would have shrugged off in a day while barely noticing it. My immune system is a bit screwed: apparently most of my white blood cells hide in my spleen instead of doing anything useful. So when this bug found me, it moved in, set up camp, and started selling retail space to anything that wanted it.
Joy. Just what I needed. 

I?ve got to regain over 15% of my body weight, and I was light to start with. And do that with 1/3 of a stomach (the rest was removed 22 years ago) and a digestive system that won?t currently even tolerate decent soup. 

I doubt I?m going to be back at work at the University of Southampton before the New Year at least. 

I can?t currently do anything with ZendTo as fortunately my Dad is staying with me for a few weeks while I get well enough to cook for myself and stuff. He sleeps in my spare bedroom, which also has my little server farm in one corner. So all of that is switched off for now.

Anyway, that?s a little status update for you all. Please do continue to ask each other for help on this list, but don?t expect a response in a hurry from me. I?m more likely to be worried about where I left my painkillers and anti-sickness pills.

P.S. Thank <insert deity here> for the NHS. Yes, I also have private medical insurance. But no, that would not have covered this.
