[ZendTo] Email not send to recipient on transfer, but is on "Resend message"

I am running zend.to 5.01 on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS.

I have upgraded via the zend.to repository, and updated my zendto.conf and preferences.php files.

When I drop off a file, the user gets no email notification.

If I go into the Outbox, select that transfer, and select "Resend message", the email is delivered as expected.

I am not sure how to go about debugging this, I'm afraid, and I'd welcome any pointers.

It was working correctly before I did the upgrade, so it is possible I have messed something up in a config file during the upgrade?
