Have sorted this I think, changed the 'sqlbackend' to SQLite3 from SQLite in preferences.php and it seems to be ok now.

I've replaced all the templates, and merged the changes into zendto.conf and preferences.php, but now I get the following error in my browser when I try and access the webpage;

"Fatal error: Class 'SQLiteDatabase' not found in /opt/zendto/lib/SQLite.php on line 57"

I've rebooted/restarted apache on the server and it all thinks everything is fine. I didn't intentionally modify and other files, and none of the changes I made seemed like they could have caused this so I am a bit stuck. I've had a look in the SQLite.php file but can't figure out why it is complaining.

Any help gladly received.

It's a problem with the apt repository system that the updater doesn't seem to want to give you *both* the old and new versions of customisable files that you have changed.

On yum/rpm systems, you get *.rpmnew files where you have altered the original file, so it's obvious what you've got and where everything needs to go.

Simply offering keep originals vs. new files isn't enough, as either you lose the new file or you lose all your changes.
Isn't there any way of getting it to keep both, like rpm systems always have done?

Thanks Jules,

Is this how I should have done the upgrade in the first place, or should the update/upgrade process have worked? (as you can probably tell Linux is not my strong point!)

You need to get the new versions of templates/*.tpl and config/zend.to and config/preferences.php and propagate your old settings into the new files, as there will have been one or two changes. The missing X icon is almost certainly down to you still having an old templates/new_dropoff.tpl.

The easiest way of getting the new files is to download the tarball (.tar.gz) file and unpack that somewhere temporary, then diff each of the templates/*.tpl and config/* files to see what you need to do.

In the process of doing that, you'll fix the version number issue too (what is displayed is actually set in preferences.php).

Cheers,
Jules.

Morning all,

I have just updated my Ubuntu VM version of ZendTo using "sudo apt-get update", then "sudo apt-get upgrade zendto". The update was downloaded and installed, I accepted the defaults to keep my own modified files, then rebooted the system.

According to "aptitude show zendto" I am now on version 4.12-5 but I do not have some of the new functionality, for example I don't have the X icon to remove files from the drop off. I do have the address book functionality but I had manually installed that previously using Eythor's patch.

Also the login page still states I am running 4.11.

Have tried running the update again, but nothing new is found.

Any idea what I can try next?

Thanks
