It is not the distro but the version of PHP ... references are handled differently in later version of PHP. Also, be aware of the document.ready() in main.js as you may need to change that for IE9!.

Thanks for finding that one too. 
I must build a Ubuntu 12 box to test on, my dev box is still on Ubuntu 10 I think so my PHP doesn't care about this problem. 

The fix will be in the next release.

I did the same thing with the "&" and it fixed that error. 

I have now successfully logged in, dropped off, and picked up a file. yay!
