Hmm, is the zendto server using a proxy server to access the internet? Or reverse proxy?
How about the failing network? Proxy there?
Total guess but that could be related if yes.

Thanks Chris - I just ran a constant ping for the last 40 minutes and attempted two uploads in that time. The ping remained solid - sub 30ms replies throughout without a single interruption.
Both my attempted uploads (approx.. 100MB) failed.
I noticed this in my error_log around the same time:
[Wed May 23 20:46:50 2012] [debug] proxy_util.c(1836): proxy: worker proxy:reverse already initialized
But not sure what that means!

I would start by doing a constant ping from the not working network to the zendto network and see if there are any dropped packets over 2 hours. A dropping network connection would cause that. We had an ISP once where the cable modem would go out of sync for like 10 seconds at a time and then come back.
