[ZendTo] Backslash in password breaks Zendto 3.71

A recent change to password policy here, with fewer restrictions on characters, has broken our ZendTo ver 3.71. A user with a backslash in their password always gets an Authentication error.

The answer, I guess, is to protect iffy characters in the password before it is validated, but knowing practically nothing of php, I can see what change needs making where. Could anyone advise, please?
