[ZendTo] Re: email config

Also on email, I found that when I turned iptables on, mail delivery
stopped. If I left an exception for a connection to port 25 from
127.0.0.1 it worked. This was an rpm install on a centos server, not a
Jules-supplied VM, so I don't know if iptables is on or off on those,
and this may be irrelevant!

Subject: [ZendTo] Re: email config

Here's an idea I got from Google:

"I removed any reference to localhost.domain.com in my hosts file and
then also replaced ALL:LOCAL with ALL: 127.0.0.1 in my hosts.allow. The
combination of the two caused the emails to not pass through. As soon as
these changes were done email started passing through. If for some
reason based on your configuration of those three files
(hosts/hosts.allow/hosts.deny) this does not resolve you can add
sendmail: localhost in your hosts.allow file. If this doesn't resolve
the problem use the below recommend resources I found useful."

And also, you have all your relay settings set to use 127.0.0.1. Check
that sendmail is actually listening on that IP, rather than the "real"
IP of the server. You can check this with
    telnet 127.0.0.1 25
and see if it connects. If it does, press Control-] and then q and then
Return, to close the connection.

Hope some of that helps!
Jules.

	I've followed the directions here:
http://www.zend.to/virtual.php and I've completed the following steps
(multiple times) to no avail:

	*	You can log in at the text console with the user "root"
and password "zendto". Once you have logged in for the first time,
please change the password with the "passwd" command.
	*	Put your own email SMTP server settings into
/etc/mail/sendmail.mc. The ones you need to change are labelled with
"ZendTo" in that file. Then "cd /etc/mail; make".
	*	Then put your hostname in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf.
Look for the line containing "zendto" and replace it with your own
hostname.

I still can't send email from the zendto box. I have this
relaying across my internal email server (and I gave the IP address of
the zendto box rights to relay) but it doesn't even seem like it's
getting to the mail server.

I'm sure I cheesed something up, any thoughts?
