I had a chance today to check out the new interface/version.

When this will be release ready, will it still be possible to use the old interface and NOT require that login ID box to appear on the interface?

We have had this rolled out in production for months now and the so far they like the way it works and the documentation has been adjusted to use it in the manner they want here.

It was decided after they tested it in the beginning for a month that we don't want to have ANYONE login in our environment. (ONLY admins to check on the status of drop-offs if asked)

External users are instructed to go to the website to create drop-offs for internal users, or an internal user will prepare the drop-off request (doing the confirmation themselves) then forward the request to the user they want to drop off the file, then the external user does not have to go through anything they just drop off the file. They see that as being simplified for the external user that needs to drop something off at an internal users request.

Internal users to drop off a file for external users go through the same process an external user would normally go through.

This was not my idea to do it this way, they came to use this method after numerous managers used the product and used it with external users.

They did not want to risk a user giving their ID and password out to a client. (I know it sounds stupid) And they did not want them using an ID shared because other lawyers would be able to see each others drop-offs.

I just want to make sure with the new versions we can continue to do what we do now.. from a functional standpoint and from the UI standpoint.

Also..

If it was easy and if anyone else could benefit it would be nice if zendto could be configured to:

If the IP accessing matches the local IP subnet, It would NOT prompt for login and let anyone complete a dropoff when accessed from that local IP subnet WITHOUT captcha. (Let them fill in the from and to fields)

Then users here can create as many drop-offs as they want but not be able to access each others drop-offs. (Only admin staff that login would be able to do that - by accessing ALL drop-offs)

And if accessed through the local IP subnet, there could be a "Create drop-off request" that our users could fill in that then sends the request to whom they specify (an external user) to drop-off a file without having to then go through the captcha process.

The features I am asking for are not really important, just something that they have told me they wish they could do. Bottom line, I would just like to be able at least continue to do what we do now with newer versions - even if I have to modify the UI slightly.

Thanks!

This is how our site looks today:

Subject: [ZendTo] New user interface! -- 1st beta

Folks,

I have just released the first beta test version of ZendTo including the brand new user interface, designed and implemented by a good friend of mine.

It is very different to the old design, and I hope that your users will find it much easier to navigate.

Before you rush off and download it, a few notes:

1) If you have changed any of the /opt/zendto/templates files at all, move them *all* out of the way completely before you install the new version. It needs to overwrite all the templates to work properly, but won't do so if it finds you have changed some of the files. It should add them if there is no file present, so best to move the whole lot out of the way before you start.

2) In your zendto.conf, you must change it to 'CSSTheme = "swish"'
instead of "duracell".

3) In your zendto.conf, there is an important new setting "ServiceLogo"
which for now you can set to the same value as "ServiceTitle".

If you don't do all of these 3, it will not work properly.

Now you can go and download it from
     http://zend.to/downloads.php

Let me know what you think, and particularly if anything doesn't work.

Note that the design is slightly different if the user is coming from one of your local IP addresses (which is set in a new setting in
preferences.php) than if coming from off-site.

Jules
