Julian,
40,000 users would indeed be cumbersome.

Our clients also asked about an address book and my thoughts where as
follows:

1) Create a new area where a users can import/export/edit and delete
contacts.
2) The Address book table has an attribute for the user with a
'lastSeen' flag that contains the last date/time the addressbook owner
logged in.
3) Every time the owner logs in to Zendto, the lastSeen flag gets
updated with the current date thus resetting the expiry date for the
addressbook.
4) The preferences file has a DaysToRetainAddrBook variable that
controls how long in Days that the address book is "retained" and
cleaned up in the case of occasional users and users who may have left
the company (makes the Address Book self maintaining).
If there is no desire to add this feature for "everyone" then consider
a "power users group" that could have the feature. The power users
could be listed a) in a flat file, b) in the preferences file, c) in a
Admin managed Mysql table where they could be manually deleted, or d)
enabled if a specific LDAP attribute is found during authentication (
This could work like authLDAPFullName where the installer gets to decide
the LDAP attribute name for the power user).

note: I've often wished that there was a "power users group" that
enabled the "Upload a CVS or text file containing addresses" option.

Anyway, I though I'd at least present an option for consideration. If
you feel it's not appropriate or cumbersome then our users will live.
I'm just grateful to have a forum where I can at least present and have
an idea flesh out. You don't get that from many commercial companies.

have a good day.
Brad

Hi Jules,

It would be nice to have address book, which contains email addresses
of LDAP/AD users. What I have in mind:

Create crontab script, which pulls Display Name and default email
address from AD and generates txt file in the following format Display
Name,email address.
Than when “internal” user goes to create drop-off he can lookup email
address based on name match in the “2. Information about the
Recipient”.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Thank you,
